- Demolition Derby at 7:00pm
As the green flag signals the start, the spontaneous
roar of missing, un-mufflered, dilapidated automobiles, resembling the
freeway rush hour and herds of stampeding elephants. The "junker's"
radiators start gushing steam geysers, blown tires belch bits of burning,
stinking rubber and fenders buckle under the constant banging of
bumper-to-bumper collisions. Drivers circle in a frenzy and rip at
hapless victims less able to maneuver.
In the rush, cars overturn, some
completely on their roofs. As the merciless competition dwindles, the
tactics become more dramatic. The winners of these contests possess the
attributes of a true showman, a bravado, recklessness, nonchalance and
insanity. The Demolition Derby is a
JM Productions event.

office at 724-865-2400.

Monster Truck Madness at 7:00pm
Well known from televised events and
stadium shows, monster truck shows are entertaining for the whole family.
Trucks typically perform racing side-by-side over crushed cars as well as
performing "freestyle" stunt exhibitions as the climax of the
show. Monster Truck Madness is a
JM Productions event.
For more information, contact the fair
office at 724-865-2400.

- Automobile Rollover Contest
Limited to compact cars, the driver must
approach a ramp on the driver side of the vehicle. Each driver makes three
consecutive passes over the ramp. The point system is based on 1/4 roll,
1/2 roll, 3/4 roll and a full roll. If the driver can drive off the track
with no assistance, they receive additional bonus points. The driver with
the most points after three attempts will be the champion, receiving the
championship trophy.

office at 724-865-2400.

- Championship Double Figure
"8" Racing at 7:00pm
Championship Double Figure "8"
Racing is a form of action racing developed a few years ago using compact
cars to enhance the excitement for drivers and spectators. This form of
Figure 8 race, unlike others, is held in front of the grandstand on the
racetrack in a minimum area of 45 feet wide by 100 feet long.
Utilizing smaller, lightweight cars takes
on all the excitement of a full-sized Figure 8 without the danger to
drivers. Speeds average up to 15 miles per hour and 5-8 cars are allowed
on the track at one time. Drivers need to out-think and out-maneuver their
competitors in order to win. Championship Double Figure 8 Racing is a
JM
Productions event.

office at 724-865-2400.

- Stock Car Football at 7:00pm
Based on the idea of soccer, stock car
football combines the driving skills of local drivers and the performance
of their cars. Although demolition derby cars are used in stock car
football, wrecking the opponent's car with another car is penalized. The
ball must cause the damage - and trust us, it causes some damage. This
unique sport showcases the teamwork skills necessary to move a 200 lb 6
foot ball into the opposing teams' end zone to score a touchdown. The two
best teams compete in the championship event, "The Superbowl."
Stock Car Football involves 16-24 cars and
drivers in team form. Each team consists of two or three cars. Two cars
can be on the playing "field" at one time. Anytime a car leaves
the playing field, a substitute car may enter.

- Y108 Freedom Fest at Noon
Featuring Keith Anderson &
Chris Higbee
(formerly of the Poverty Neck Hillbillies)
Keith Anderson could be the poster child
for the notion that good things happen to good people. He’s quickly
earned the reputation of being an adept writer of award nominated hits,
not just for his own projects but for other artists as well and his good
guy persona is as widely known as his high energy,
let’s-get-this-party-started live shows.
The release of his sophomore album C’MON! finds Anderson, the
Grammy-nominated songwriter, in fine form. He co-wrote 10 of the disc’s
11 tracks, pairing with some of Nashville’s top tunesmiths including
Rivers Rutherford, Tim Nichols, Chuck Cannon, Vicky McGehee, Jeffrey
Steele (also the disc’s producer) and Bob DiPiero. "I wrote by
myself for so long that it’s fun to co-write," the Oklahoma native
says. "I’m just such a social person that I love people and working
together with them. Different co-writers have different strengths and I
think you tend to tuck away certain ideas for certain co-writers."
Bring chairs and blankets. Concert gates
open at noon. Coolers allowed. No Alcohol, no glass bottles. 10 and under
free with fair admission.
Tickets for the Y108 Freedom Fest can be
purchased online through

Tickets! Preordered ticket prices include admission to the fair.
